Day 1: Arrival in Casablanca

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. Depending on your arrival time, you might have the energy for a short introductory drive past the iconic Hassan II Mosque, one of the largest in the world. The evening is free to relax and adjust to the new time zone.

Day 2: Casablanca to the Blue Pearl: Chefchaouen

After breakfast, we begin our drive north towards the Rif Mountains and the famous “Blue Pearl” of Morocco, Chefchaouen. The journey is scenic, and we’ll break it up with rest stops. Upon arrival, the mesmerizing blue-washed streets of the medina will captivate every family member. The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace—a perfect opportunity for those unforgettable family photos.

Day 3: Free Day to Explore Chefchaouen

This is a free day to fully immerse yourselves in the relaxed vibe of Chefchaouen. There are no schedules to keep. Families can wander the blue alleyways, shop for unique handicrafts, hike to the Spanish Mosque for a stunning panoramic view of the town, or simply relax at a café and watch the world go by. This day is all about unwinding and enjoying the town’s unique atmosphere.

Day 4: Chefchaouen to the Imperial City of Fes

After a leisurely breakfast, we depart for the spiritual and cultural capital of Morocco, Fes. The drive offers beautiful views of the countryside. We will arrive in the afternoon, giving you time to check into your riad and perhaps have a first swim in the pool. The evening can be spent exploring the immediate area around your riad or enjoying a quiet dinner.

Day 5: Exploring the Ancient Medina of Fes

Today, meet your expert local guide for a family-focused tour of the ancient Fes el-Bali medina, a UNESCO World Heritage site. To keep it engaging for kids, the tour highlights sensory experiences: seeing the vibrant tanneries from a terrace view (with a sprig of mint to smell!), watching artisans hammer copper, and exploring the narrow streets. The tour is paced to avoid overwhelm and will include breaks for fresh orange juice or a snack.

Day 6: Fes – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Merzouga Desert

Bid farewell to Fes and journey south, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop in Ifrane, a charming ski-resort town known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” and look for Barbary macaque monkeys in the cedar forests near Azrou. Have lunch in Midelt before descending through the dramatic Ziz Valley gorge. The landscape transforms as you approach the Sahara, and the first sight of the Erg Chebbi dunes is magical. The trail offers beautiful scenery, waterfalls, and an insight into Berber village life, often including a visit to a traditional home for tea. After the hike and lunch, we cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass to reach Marrakech by evening.

Upon arrival, the rest of the day is free to explore the relaxed medina, walk the historic skala (ramparts), and breathe in the ocean air.

Day 13: Free Day in Essaouira

Enjoy a full free day in this windswept paradise. Day 15: Departure from Morocco
